Underwater Digital Still (Compact)

Sony DSC-T100

Sony DSC-T100

Enviro Marine uses compact digital still cameras for underwater imaging for non-analytical purposes.  The Sony T100 provides a high-resolution 8.1 MP imaging, a powerful 5x optical zoom lens and a huge 3.0″ Clear Photo LCD Plus screen – yet it can still be fitted in a BCD pocket.  The camera can also be coupled with our Inon Z-240 Type 2 strobes to provide extra lighting without the need for wires.  (Analytical imaging is undertaken with digital SLR systems such as the Nikon D200 with Nexus housing).

Enviro Marine uses digital hard disk camcorders for marine surveys and monitoring, eliminating the need for tapes and discs.  Video can be reviewed immediately onsite and re-shot if necessary – saving the client time and money.  The video captured is immediately backed up to DVD and available to the client in a convenient and portable digital format.  For more information on our video systems, click the links below:

Time-series Sediment Traps *coming soon*

Mclane Parflux 78H

Mclane Parflux 78H

In addition to conventional sediment traps, Enviro Marine employs time-series sediment traps that are electronically controlled – allowing sediment samples to be collected and secured on a user-defined time scale.  Unlike conventional sediment traps, regular field trips are not required to collect sediments.   As a result, the collection of a time-series of samples allows much greater resolution of sampling at reduced costs, as well as detecting sedimentation events on a range of temporal scales.

MarinerShark Shield™ – Electronic shark deterrents

Shark Shield Mariner for SSBA diving

Shark Shield Mariner for SSBA diving

As part of OH&S, any professional diving activities should assess the risk of shark attack and implement appropriate control measures.  All Enviro Marine’s diving operations use Shark Shield™ electronic shark deterrents to minimise the risk of harm from shark attack.  The Shark Shield™ Mariner has been designed specifically for Surface Supplied (SSBA) diving and can also be deployed from the back of a boat or beneath a float.  The Freedom 4 is more suited for diving operations using SCUBA equipment.

Underwater Scooter

SeaDoo Sea-scooter

SeaDoo Sea-scooter

Providing speeds up to 3kph at a depth of up to 20m with built in buoyancy regulation the Sea-Doo is essential for survey work covering a large area, or in regions where strong currents occur.  In addition to providing propulsion the scooter is a useful means of clearing sediment from buried objects.

SCUBA Compressor – BAUER Oceanus

Bauer Oceanus B petrol compressor

Bauer Oceanus G petrol compressor

Essential for field operations in remote locations, the Bauer Oceanus is designed to be used on board vessels and on extended expeditions.  The compressor is able to supply 140 L/min, which allows a tank to be filled in approximately 17 mins.  With a multi head fitting, two tanks may be filled simultaneously.
